Books: Amygdala Alpha

The amygdala is the part of our brain responsible for the creation, storage and processing of (emotional) memories.
Memories are structured in neural networks and linked with each other through association. Some memories are strongly anchored in our brain, others become colored over time. Everytime we recall a memory, a new layer is added.

All these images are linked to strong, personal memories.
While looking at these images, every individual recalls different memories, linked to his/her own experiences.
Therefore, it is possible that these images create new memories or slip unconsciously into the viewer’s neural memory trace.
This questions the daily stream of images and how we get,
sometimes unconsciously, manipulated or influenced by what we see.
